Weekly Update - April 4th

Hi CBC Family,

I hope this finds you well! It’s a bit surreal that it’s been almost a month since we last met. And by the way things look, we’re preparing for this to continue a lot longer than expected and hoped for. Nevertheless, I am so encouraged by the new ways that you are discovering to continue growing together and caring for one another! Here are a few updates and reminders:

Gatherings Suspended through April – Our initial decision back at the beginning of March was to suspend all gatherings through March and evaluate after. Obviously, a lot has changed since then. With the current ‘stay at home’ order extended through April, all gatherings will continue to be suspended at least until then. (I’m assuming you all figured this but I thought we’d mention it anyway.)

Virtual Service – We will be live this Sunday! Join us here at 10 AM. Thank you for your patience over the last few weeks with all our technical difficulties. Pray for us! =)

Online Devotionals – We will be posting two online devotionals every week in order to encourage and bless you! You can find them on our website, CBC App, Vimeo Homepage, Instagram, and Facebook page. Stay tuned for Pastor Nick’s devotional this Tuesday!

Zoom Gatherings – In light of our current situation, many of us have been “getting together” via Zoom these past few weeks whether in small groups or just connecting as friends/acquaintances. If you are interested in joining a Zoom group and connecting with others in this way, please let us know!

Need Assistance? – If you, or anyone you know, needs assistance with anything - getting groceries/supplies, running errands, etc. – please let us know! Click here or contact Nancy Nagayama at N.nagayama@gmail.com or (562)335-7714 for more information.

Financial Assistance – One of the biggest challenges for some of us right now is in the area of finances and we have a benevolence fund just for that – a fund to help our church family in times of need. If you need assistance or have any questions, please contact Steph Suzuki, our benevolence fund committee chair, at stephsuzuki@cox.net. Click here or visit the CBC App to fill out an application. All inquiries will be kept confidential.

Willing to Help? – If you are willing to help those in need (see above), please let us know! This is a very practical way that we can help and support one another during this season. Please click here or email serve@cerritosbaptist.org for more information.

As always, thanks for reading! Please don’t hesitate to contact us regarding anything!
