As we grow as followers and disciples of Jesus Christ, we pursue kingdom living with God, for God, and under God. We want to make a difference in our world, and have an impact on the people around us.  Here are some ways you can do that at CBC:

MISSIONS

CBC supports many missionaries around the world, and supports members of our church family who go on short term missions.  You might feel called to go on a missions trip or to support someone who does.  Please contact a pastor to discuss participating, supporting, or being supported on a missions trip.

Baja Home Ministries. Twice a year, teams go to build a house for a family in need in Tijuana/Baja. Usually a construction team does the actual building, and sometimes a children's team provides activities for the neighborhood kids or an outreach team visits other families in the neighborhood. No experience is necessary, just willing hands and heart.

GIVE

CBC has two funds to give assistance to those in need, and we invite you to contribute financially to those funds.  The Benevolence Fund supports those in our church family who need extra help, and the Community Compassion Fund provides assistance to those in our community and our social circles. Give here, using the pull-down menu to choose a fund; contact Steph Suzuki for an application, to find out how to help someone you know, or for general information.

Backpacks2 Olive Crest is a local organization that provides for at-risk children, youth, and families in need. We participate in the Easter Basket Drive, Backpack Drive, Be the Miracle Christmas Gift Drive, Strong Families, fundraising campaigns, and more.  You can find out more about Olive Crest here, or contact Tina Lorenz to learn how to participate in any of their events.

SERVE

There are many ways to serve in our church. If you have been attending CBC for a while and would like to get more involved, a good place to start is with an entry-level ministry like the Welcome Team or Refreshments Ministry. If you have an interest in using your gifts and abilities to serve on the worship or audio-visual teams, with children or youth ministries, or in some other way, please contact the ministry leader listed here.

Many of our small groups serve together, coordinating events or activities, or serving together in the community. Joining a small group is a good first step to finding a like-minded group of people committed to serving Jesus in whatever ways He leads.

On the Sunday after Christmas we serve with Rise Against Hunger, an organization committed to fighting global poverty. Instead of meeting to worship on that Sunday morning, we host a meal packaging event and invite the church family to serve together (pictured below). Find out more here, and look out for more information at the end of the year.
