We support Olive Crest, as they strive to work with the community to support vulnerable children and families in need. This school year will be one of the most difficult and challenging times for children across the United States. 

Last month, CBCers contributed backpacks and gift cards for Olive Crest families. Being able to start the school year with a new backpack and school supplies will help prevent youth from falling further behind in their studies.

However, with most schools starting the year virtually, it has become a huge need to get laptops, tablets, and WiFi into the homes of at-risk children.

But, technology like this goes beyond just the classroom. Children who want to see their family can spend time with them online. One little girl has been able to see her mom, and use her new laptop to learn how to manage her anger, use coping skills, and has increased positive communication when expressing her feelings. 

Because of the pandemic, feelings of isolation have been heightened for Transitional Aged Youth (TAY) over the last five months. Socially distanced community events have brought creativity, laughter, and smiles. One of the youth mentioned how thankful they were to be given a night out like that because it really helped them with their Mental Health.

Right now you can help make a difference by donating to the match fundraiser where  $1 will become $2,  $25 will become $50, and up to $1,000 turning into $2,000.
