NO SERVICES ON SUNDAY!

We will not have Sunday services or other large gatherings at church for at least the next 3 weeks. This includes Children's Ministry, Youth meetings, Small Group Experience, Soulfit, Senior Bible Studies, and any other large groups.  If you're not certain about a group or event, please check with a staff member or ministry leader.

Sunday services will be accessible online, on the app and through the LIVE button on the website homepage. On March 15, you can view the recorded virtual service.  Starting on March 22, we will livestream the services at 10 am. Please join us on Sundays.

Here is the letter sent to the church family on Friday, March 13 regarding the COVID-19 Update.

Dear CBC Family,

It’s with great sadness that I have to inform you that we as a staff have decided to suspend all of our worship services and church events throughout the remainder of March due to growing concerns about COVID-19 and the recommendations of CDC and CA Public Health. With much prayer and discussion, we feel that refraining from gathering for this season is the best way to serve our community in helping to limit the spread of this disease. I’ll be the first to admit that this was by no means an easy decision, but one that we feel is necessary and right.

We know that this will be a challenging time for our church. Coming together, building community, and doing life together is one of our greatest strengths and it will surely be put to the test. Yet, I am hopeful and confident that we will find a way to come out of this stronger.

Here are a few ways to stay connected:

Live Stream – Join us online this Sunday for a special virtual service! And beginning next week, we will be hosting an interactive live stream every Sunday at 10 AM (which you’ll also be able to watch throughout the week)! Visit our website or the CBC App for more information.

Small Groups – We highly encourage you to stay connected with your small group during this season whether remotely or in small, safe gatherings. Please be intentional in reaching out and checking in on one another. This is a significant opportunity to build-up the backbone of our church and the relationships we have with each other! If you are interested in joining a small group, please let us know and we would be happy to arrange that.

Check for Updates – We will be sending you more information than you probably want! Stay tuned.

Contact Us – PLEASE do not hesitate to contact us if you have any needs, questions, ideas, or concerns. I can’t stress this enough! We are all here for you! You can find all of our email addresses on the church website (www.cerritosbaptist.org). You can also call the church at (562)860-1720, or you can call me personally at (562)202-2623.

In light of everything going on, there is still a lot we don’t know! We are seeking the Lord and figuring things out by the minute. Please be praying for us as we will be praying for you.

With that being said, as difficult as things may seem right now, there is so much reason to find hope and joy. God is present, faithful, and good. He always has been and always will be. As we’ve been seeing in our series these past few weeks, God moves mightily when we let Him wear the ‘Big Crown’ – so let’s give Him the Big Crown and allow Him to lead the way.

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.  Philippians 4:4–7

In Christ,

Erik Kakimoto/CBC Staff
