Winsome Wu - Interim Executive Pastor

We warmly welcome Pastor Winsome Wu into his new ministry role as CBC's Interim Executive Pastor!
Pastor Winsome has been serving Cerritos Baptist Church as a church consultant throughout our church planting process which began last November, 2005. His church consulting ministry also extends to various churches and ministries in Northern and Southern California, and is associated with the Asian American Leadership Center, a 501(c)(3) non-profit ministry consulting organization whose mission is to empower Asian Americans for life and leadership in service to God and others.

Prior to coming to CBC, Pastor Winsome served on the pastoral staff of Christian Layman Church for over eight years, in the areas of preaching and teaching, board and staff strategic planning, HR and personnel policy development, evangelism and missions, leadership development, and church planting. He also served as the Leadership Development Coordinator with the collegiate parachurch ministry of Asian American Christian Fellowship (AACF) for several years, helping to develop leadership training resources for the students and staff.

Pastor Winsome graduated from U.C. Berkeley with a degree in Business Administration, and worked three years doing finance work in the banking and computer software industries. He graduated from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary with a M.Div. and with a M.A. in Intercultural Studies, and is currently working on a Ph.D. in Leadership at Fuller Theological Seminary. For recreation, he enjoys reading books, watching movies, and spending time with friends.

Pastor Winsome is serving in an interim role with CBC because he is also concurrently serving with a team of ministry leaders to establish a new church plant in Northern California, which has an anticipated launch date for its weekly worship services in mid-2007.
