Donna Katagi - Teacher / Spirtual Formation Director

Donna Katagi has been attending Cerritos Baptist Church since 1991, and is the Director of Spiritual Formation. She grew up in Los Angeles, attending the LA Holiness Church where she became a Christian in high school. She attended UCLA and was active in helping start the Asian American Christian Fellowship (AACF) there. Since then, she has been involved in many teaching ministries as a layperson, including children/youth Sunday School, mentoring college/career young adults, teaching parenting classes, women’s Bible studies, and adult education. In 2003, Donna sensed God’s call to ministry, and has been amazed at God’s grace in leading her to fully embrace serving Him.

Donna has been an elementary school teacher for 12 years, and currently works half-time at Walnut Elementary School teaching second grade. She is pursuing a Master of Arts in Religion at Azusa Pacific University. She is extremely proud of her two grown children, Tracey and Brandon, and lives in West Covina with her dog, Megumi. She loves to read, study, learn, watch TV and movies, get together with friends, and regularly attempts (and sometimes completes) the LA Times crossword puzzle and sudoku.
